“From Gene to Trait”

a course on plant biotechnology

“From Gene to Trait” is a five full day course driven to the major plant biotechnology research tools such as gene discovery using bioinformatics, transcriptomic, metagenomics, microorganism culture collections, inoculants, gene editing, introduction to regulatory framework and intellectual property.

Since 2018 the course trained over 300 participants from nine countries.

In its forth edition, the course will be back to the in-person format. It is offered in the second semester of the year in Campinas, São Paulo (Brazil).

The target audience is graduate students and agricultural biotechnology company.

The course is free of charge, but there is a selection process to appoint the most motivated candidates.

2022 “From Gene to Trait” Course

When: September 12-16, 2022, 8am-5pm (in-person)

Location: Embrapa Digital Agriculture Auditorium – Av. Dr. André Tosello, 209, University City, Campinas (SP).

Total of participants: 60

Application deadline: August 05th, 2022 – at 12 am (São Paulo time zone) 

Final Result: August 12th, 2022

From Gene to Trait – 2021
In 2020, we cancelled the course because of the COVID-19 pandemics. In to 2021 we decided to run it online in a weekly-class format during four months. We had over 450 applications and only 250 were selected and from them, 90 filled all the requirement to get the certificate.
