Project´s Description
Mitochondria play a central role in aerobic respiration and energetic metabolism in complex organisms. Changes in mitochondrial metabolism dictated by the processes of differentiation and development or adaptation to adverse environmental conditions, require a close communication between the mitochondria, the nucleus, and other cellular compartments. In plants, the regulatory elements involved in this process are still poorly understood. At GCCRC we are unravelling new mechanisms associated to Mitochondrial retrograding signalling regulating stress response.
