We have an open Post-doctoral position with a Fapesp fellowship in genetic transformation. The researcher will be part of the plant genetics team and work on the optimization of corn processing protocols. Applications can be made until June 22. The position is open to foreigners and lasts for 12 months (renewable for another 12).
The candidate must have experience in plant genetic transformation, especially with Agrobacterium tumefaciens and/or bioballistics. Experience with plant tissue culture (especially corn) and experimentation with plants are desirable. Also, we are looking for a candidate with good organizational skills, teamwork, and English proficiency.
Our team is composed of researchers from Embrapa and Unicamp (in addition to international partners), who seek to develop biotechnology assets capable of improving the efficiency of agriculture and resistance of plants to stresses caused by climate change. To do this, our research is organized as a pipeline that starts in the discovery of candidate genes to field testing and the launch of new technologies.
